Dear Church Family,

We live in a world that has a problem with truth. Our world has increasingly rejected absolute truth and brought in relative truth, along with more and more absurdity. The culture has tried to redefine truth as being whatever one wants it to be. The problem is, truth is truth, whether we like it or not. As long as we reject the truth, redefine it, or create our own truth, we cannot benefit from the actual truth. I was read through John 18 this week, where and Jesus appears before Pilate. Pilate is questioning Jesus about His identity and truth claims. I stopped at this verse:

John 18:38 (ESV)
Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”

Pilate’s statement would fit right in with today’s sentiment. Right in front of him was “The Way, the Truth, and the Life.” It didn’t matter whether Pilate believed in Him or not, Jesus was still the Messiah. Even though the people had rejected Him, He was still God, the Son. Only those who actually accept the truth of who Jesus is and place their trust in Him as their Savior, can truly benefit from the truth. Listen to these words from Jesus, earlier in the Gospel of John to His disciple, Thomas, who also struggled with coming to grips with the truth.
John 14:6 (ESV)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
How have you responded to the truth about Jesus? He came to seek and save the Lost. He loves you and died to save you from your sins. If you’ve never placed your trust in Jesus, here is a simple prayer you can pray right now, asking Him to save you from your sins and come into your life and be your Lord and Savior.
Lord, I know that I’m a sinner and I’m sorry for the wrong things that I’ve done, thought, and said. I know that my sin separates me from You and there is nothing I can do can save myself from my sins. I believe that Your Son, Jesus, came into this world, lived a perfect life, died on the cross in my place, and was raised from the dead on the third day. Please forgive me from my sins and come into my life and make me new. Thank you so much for loving me and giving me this free gift of eternal life! In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you prayed this and believed it in your heart, the Bible says that you are completely forgiven, a new creation, and have entered into the family of God. Please tell me and other believers about your decision so we can come alongside you in your new relationship with God.

John 8:32 (ESV)
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
