Dear Church Family, You don’t expect to see a river in the desert. In Psalm 105 God recounts all the ways He lead and provided for His people throughout their history. Part of the Psalm is dedicated to the wilderness wandering. It’s amazing to think that God provided food and water for millions of people for 40 years of wandering through desert land. Those must have been difficult years, but at the same time, it must have been amazing to see God provide in miraculous ways. I love this description:
Maybe you’ve been going through difficult times lately. There are many different obstacles we face in life and some seasons are tougher than others. One hidden blessing of going through desert places is that God’s provisions are that much more stark in contrast. They are rivers of life in the midst of dry sand. Look for reminders of God’s goodness when you find yourself in the desert. These times can be a source of joy when you come out on the other side.
