Dear Church Family, Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for! Each of us could list out blessing after blessing that God has given us and grace after grace that He has poured out in our lives. In 2 Corinthians 8-9 Paul calls on the church to give generously towards an offering for poor believers in Jerusalem. In the last verse of this section, he gives thanks to the ultimate giver, who has given us the greatest gift of all. 2 Corinthians 9:15 (ESV)
Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
The gift of salvation God has given us is so incredible, Paul describes it as “inexpressible.” Paul uses a word only used here in the New Testament, which describes something that is incapable of being adequately described. It is truly “indescribable.” God has given us the greatest gift of all, the offer of a relationship with God Himself. No matter what we do or do not have, if we have that, we have everything and every reason to give thanks. In fact, we don’t have words to adequately express how much God has given us! In the busyness of this week, take some time to thank God for His inexpressible gift. What’s Happening at Gospel Life:Advent: We will start advent this coming Sunday as we look forward to the birth of Christ. Join us each Sunday leading up to Christmas as we remember the different things that Christ brought at His first advent. We will look at Christ’s birth from a different person’s point of view each week leading up to Christmas.
